From client request to a package the technical lead can sign.
A request for quotation arrives as a PDF. Someone senior then spends a day or two turning it into a scope of work, a method statement, an inspection and test plan, a crew list, a schedule and a price. This assistant drafts the whole package from the request, so senior time goes into correcting rather than typing.
On this page the assistant is simulated with fixed templates over structured inputs. In the pilot we would run a language model over your own procedures, rate schedule and past quotes, with every number traceable to a rate or a productivity figure you can change.
The client's RFQ or scope schedule, plus your procedure library, rate schedule and technician certification register.
A draft bid package: scope, method statement, ITP, crew and equipment, schedule, assumptions and exclusions, and a priced quote with every line traceable.
Five past RFQs and the quotes you actually sent. The assistant drafts blind; we compare it to the real quote line by line.
The requestThree synthetic client requests. Pick one and see what the assistant reads out of it.
Every excerpt is invented for this demo. The fields on the right are what the assistant extracts before it drafts anything; highlights in the excerpt show where each came from.
Incoming requests
Draft packageThe bid package the assistant drafts, section by section.
Generated from the parsed request and the productivity settings on the left. Amber highlights are assumptions the technical lead must confirm; green ones trace to a published figure.
Productivity and crew settings
Field days are quantity divided by a daily rate and the number of crews, rounded up. Only the PEC rates have a published source; the rest are editable assumptions the pilot replaces with your field-ticket history.
CUI screening
Turnaround welds
Tank survey
Crews
Price build-upA priced quote with every line traceable to a rate you set.
Defaults sit inside the ranges of a 2026 US third-party rate guide. Canadian rates differ; the pilot loads your own rate schedule and these inputs disappear.
Rates (US benchmark ranges)
Ranges from the NDTIntel 2026 guide and the NDT Connect cost guide, continental US, third-party providers. No published Alberta charge-out sheet exists; Alberta technician wages (Job Bank median $36.38/h) bound the cost side; the multiple is yours.
PrequalificationCan you actually submit this bid? The commercial plumbing, checked before the price goes out.
In Western Canada the owner's portals decide whether a quote is even opened. Tick what is in place; on this page the ticked items count toward the appendix list and the rest are flagged as open.
Where the quote lines end up
Quote lines later have to reconcile to signed field tickets in the owner's invoicing platform, each with an AFE or cost-centre code, a PO line, an approver code and a unit of measure. The draft quote carries a unit of measure per line for that reason. One published NDT-services RFP (Kinross TASI-1340) scored bids on commercial terms, proven experience, suitability of staff, training plan and licences; expect the same, so the CV and certification appendix is part of the package.
The deliverable is defined by the code and the jurisdiction, not by the quote.
The assistant writes the report skeleton into the scope so the client sees, at bid stage, what comes back. For Alberta pressure piping that means API 570 record contents plus the ABSA obligations the report feeds.
API 570 · piping inspection record, 7.9.2 b)
| Item | In the draft report skeleton | Who fills it |
|---|---|---|
| Inspection date | Date of each inspection or examination | Assistant, from the field log |
| Next due date | Next scheduled inspection, from the interval rule (half remaining life or Table 1, whichever is less) | Owner's inspector |
| Inspector | Name or initials of the person who performed the inspection or examination | Assistant, from the crew roster |
| Equipment ID | Serial number or other identifier of the piping inspected (circuit and CML IDs) | Assistant, from the scope |
| Description | Inspection or examination performed: method, extent, procedure revision | Assistant, from the ITP |
| Results | Results; thinnest reading at each CML (5.6, 5.7); CUI locations identified (7.11) | Technician, reviewed by Level 3 |
| Per-circuit record (7.9.5) | Material, diameter, pressures and temperatures, fluid, class, insulation, special-circuit flags, corrosion rate and remaining life at the limiting CML, intervals | Owner's records; assistant pre-fills what the RFQ gives |
ABSA · AB-506 Edition 4 and AB-512 Edition 4, Alberta pressure equipment
| Requirement | What it means for the bid | Sign-off |
|---|---|---|
| Detailed reports on file (AB-506 11.5.1) | A detailed inspection report is kept for each item. The scope names the report per circuit. | Assistant drafts the skeleton |
| ISI evaluation and approval (AB-506 8.0) | All examination records are evaluated and approved by an Alberta In-Service Inspector; NDE personnel do not need an ISI certificate. | Alberta In-Service Inspector |
| Report certification (AB-512 4.16) | Each report is certified by an Alberta In-Service Inspector, e.g. the chief inspector; UT results reviewed by a certified individual. | Alberta In-Service Inspector |
| Electronic Summary Report (AB-506 11.5.2) | Excel list of equipment with last thorough inspection date, interval and code, certified by an ISI, due by the end of January for the preceding year; quarterly when many records change. The quote offers an ESR-ready list. | Assistant prepares the list; ISI certifies |
| Contractor requirements (AB-512 4.17) | The owner-user gives contractors written requirements, validates special NDE procedures and verifies certification. The bid appendix carries procedures and CGSB certificates for that check. | Assistant assembles the appendix |
| Piping interval (AB-506 10.4) | External inspection of pressure piping at ten years or less per API 570, or per an accepted RBI program. The scope states which interval the campaign serves. | Owner's inspection plan |
Jurisdiction note. Atmospheric storage tanks are not ABSA pressure equipment; the tank package reports to API 653 and the owner's tank program. Pipelines outside the lease boundary fall under the AER's Directive 077 rather than ABSA. A production version would need a jurisdiction switch for that reason.

Five past RFQs, drafted blind, compared to the quotes you actually sent.
No meetings are required. If the drafts are not close enough to save the technical lead real time, the readout says so and we stop there.
